Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our artisanal tiles and delivery process.

How should I calculate the quantity of tiles I need for my project?

We recommend measuring your total area in square meters and adding a 10% to 15% buffer for wastage, cutting, and potential future repairs. For complex patterns like herringbone, a 15% wastage allowance is highly advised.

Are your tiles suitable for both floors and walls?

Most of our encaustic cement and zellige tiles are suitable for both wall and floor applications. However, certain delicate glazes or patterns may be wall-only. Please check the specific product specifications on the item page for durability ratings.

Do you offer international shipping?

Yes, Otto Tiles & Design ships worldwide. Shipping costs and lead times vary by destination and order weight. Please contact our support team with your delivery address for a bespoke shipping quote.

Can I request samples before placing a full order?

Absolutely. We encourage ordering samples to see the true color and texture of our handmade tiles in your home's lighting. Samples can be ordered directly from each product page.

Why do my tiles have slight variations in color and shape?

Our tiles are handcrafted using traditional methods. Variations in shade, edge detail, and surface texture are inherent characteristics of artisanal products like Zellige and Terrazzo, contributing to their unique beauty.

What is your return policy for over-ordered tiles?

We accept returns on full, unopened boxes of stock tiles within 14 days of delivery, subject to a restocking fee. Please note that bespoke or 'made-to-order' designs cannot be returned or exchanged.
